Complete care for patients with AFib

Need to Find a Doctor?

Choose an expert who is part of our Comprehensive Atrial Fibrillation Management Program.

As part of the largest program in the Baltimore/Washington area dedicated to treating heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, or AFib, our electrophysiologists are sought after nationwide for their expertise. We are actively involved in researching the next generation of AFib treatments, with our doctors designing and leading clinical trials that give patients early access to treatment options not available elsewhere. Our team members work together to create customized treatment plans for every patient’s unique condition and needs.

We were the first center in the Baltimore/Washington area to offer the WATCHMAN™ device for reducing the risk of stroke related to AFib, and we have more experience in using this treatment than any other center in the mid-Atlantic region. We’re also a national leader in cryoablation, or the use of intense cold to treat AFib.
Our doctors provide a range of advanced treatments for AFib, including:

  • Ablation techniques, which create scar tissue that interferes with the abnormal electrical signals that cause AFib
  • Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)
  • Convergent, or maze procedure, a particular type of AFib ablation technique
  • Devices implanted in the heart to control AFib, including implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs) and pacemakers
