Fady Iskander, MD, is a fellowship-trained, full-time interventional cardiologist practicing at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. He is board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Iskander’s clinical interests include complex coronary interventions, atherectomy, and coronary imaging. He is experienced in structural heart procedures—including transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, and valvuloplasty.
He also has expertise in the transradial cardiac catheterization procedure—the gold standard for cardiac catheterization. At MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, over 90% of cardiac catheterizations are performed transradially.
Dr. Iskander earned a master’s degree in clinical research from Rush University in Chicago. He has published multiple scientific papers and his passion for clinical research helps improve the lives of patients.
